Description
Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, these beer brat bites are perfect for game day or any casual gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef bratwurst
- 1 cup beer (lager or amber)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bratwurst until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the skin (if desired) and roughly chop the bratwurst into small pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the chopped bratwurst, beer, breadcrumbs, flour, egg, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until you have a well-combined batter.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a spoon, drop small nuggets of the mixture into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove and let them drain on paper towels.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
Notes
For the best texture, don’t overcrowd the oil while frying. Serve with dipping sauces or as mini sliders.
