Description

Delicious deep-fried treats filled with caramelized apples, perfect for gatherings or satisfying cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
  • 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix the diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon. Let it sit for about five minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the juices to flow.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pie crusts. If you bought pre-rolled ones, just gently unroll them.
  3. Cut and Fill: Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out rounds from the dough. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each round, then drizzle a bit of caramel on top.
  4. Seal: Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, and use a fork to crimp the edges.
  5. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about an inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  6. Fry: Carefully place a few bombs in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Drain and Dust: Remove with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar while they’re still warm.

Notes

Best served warm and fresh. Pair with vanilla ice cream or extra caramel.
