Description
Tender and juicy homemade meatballs, bursting with flavor, perfect for pairing with pasta, subs, or enjoying on their own.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (lean recommended)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (day-old works well)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for browning
- Marinara sauce for simmering
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, egg, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; don’t overdo it.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
- Shape the meat mixture into balls about 1.5 inches in diameter for even cooking.
- Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs to the skillet, making sure not to crowd them. Brown on all sides.
- After searing, pour in your marinara sauce and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes, until cooked through (165°F).
Notes
For added flavor, let the meatball mixture chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes before shaping.
